Greetings All,

I am coming into the technological age kicking and screaming; but, like it or not, it is here and I need to put on my running shoes to keep up. I am new at creating a blog (can you tell?) so, I am asking for your patience with me as I navigate these technological waters (sometimes without a paddle!).

IEWAD is pleased to be back after a hiatus of several years. You know, life got in the way.  And there were years of political unrest that plagued the country where we were working, Cote d'Ivoire. We would love for you to be informed of what new programs and projects we are planning. Our most recent project, the Young Women’s Leadership Cafe, was very exciting. It was the first time that we collaborated with other non-profit organizations:  POWER, Inc. in Michigan and Centre Ivorian d’Education Civique pour le Développement Durable (CVID) based in Abidjan.

Some things have changed (e.g, blogging, IPad, etc.) while some things have remained the same or become worse - the recent kidnapping of over 200 young female students from their school.

I am the Founder and Executive Director of IEWAD. IEWAD, as a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization is my "second" job. My full-time job is at the University of Michigan School of Public Health.
